01-C: Self Portrait Reflection, September 11 2012.
1.The good/strong parts of my project is the shading, because there is good amount of contrast between lights and darks all around.
2. I could have done better with the time I used and the detail in the shading.
3. The theme of my picture is it is a self portrait of me, if I was a squirrel. I used a series of blending different shades of pencil in my picture.
4. The lighter tones in my project are the shafts of light. The darker tones in my project are the trees.
5. I filled the page with trees, leaves, and branches
6. I need to continue lightly sketching the paper to avoid spots that are hard to erase.
7. I first sketched the trees in the front. Worked on the leaves in the canopy on the back. Then moved back to the branches and how they overlap each other. Then the shading. It was to work like this from front to back.
8. This is a worthwhile project. Instead of a self-portrait, have it be a drawing of something that tells about themselves. Self-Portrait sounds too specific and can lead to confusion.
